If your company has experience or is aware of a potential data security breach that may involve Discover Network account data, it is important to take immediate steps to minimize damages due to the incident.
Containment
Ensure the data security breach has been contained by conducting an investigation. Maintain a log of all actions taken to ensure proper documentation. Isolate compromised systems from the network including wireless. It is important to preserve all evidence related to an incident while simultaneously taking the steps necessary to mitigate and/or prevent further damage. Continue to be alert and actively monitor for further intrusion attempts. As a note: All action should be taken in accordance with your company’s security professionals and law enforcement officials.
Notification
Proper communication must be provided to appropriate parties to help ensure affective handling of the incident. Work with your internal information security group to ensure they are aware of the incident and contact the following organizations:
